The research methodology department of the School of Educational Studies was established according to the rector’s order (A/110) of the MNUE, dated 2 June 2014, with the objectives to training the future teachers in the scientific research methodology, and to preparing the teachers as researchers.
In 2016, it was established as a “professor’s team”, including lecturers and professors who have rich working experiences in the areas of educational study, phycology, social studies, mathematics, and economics/statistics. The head of the team was professor J. Batdelger. In 2017, the professor’s team was changed to be the research methodology department, and associate professor T. Batbold was working as the head of the department. Currently, the research methodology department has four lecturers, namely B. Bayarmaa (Ph.D), D. Ariunaa (Ph.D), B. Battsetseg (Ph.D) and D.Zol-Erdene (Doctoral candidate), and B. Bayarmaa (Ph.D) is working as a head of the department.
Since 2014, the research methodology department has been working on the development of curriculum and standards of the research methodology courses as well as other courses. For the bachelor training, curriculum and standards of three courses, namely “Research methodology”, “Educational research methodology” and “Automatization of the information” were developed, approved and implemented. For the master degree training, curriculum and standards of the courses of “Educational economics”, “Educational statistics”, “Research methodology to meeting the adult demand”, “Research methodology-2” and “Educational research methodology -2” were developed, approved and implemented. For the doctoral degree training, curriculum and standard of the “Research methodology -3” was developed, approved and implemented.
In 2015, the “Research methodology course”, of the bachelor degree training, was fully prepared to be conducted on online, and the complete set of teaching and learning materials were prepared in the website, including 24 content, 2 assignment guidelines and student assessment data base with 300 tests.
In 2023, the master degree course of the “Business education, teacher” was newly launched by the Research methodology department.
